When we were planning where to have our wedding Rose seemed clear about two things.  She wanted it to be somewhere with character and she wanted beautiful gardens where we could take photographs of people enjoying themselves.  The Old Abbey House sprung immediately to mind, but whether they would allow us to use it was another matter.  The sixteen men who lived there all had to say yes.  I reckoned there was a 50:50 chance with each of them, so that made odds of 1 in 65,000.  We asked and I chewed my nails.

Then they said yes, and I chewed my nails some more.  What if Rose didn't like the place.  We were running out of time to find anywhere else.

On 7th February Rose, Sahananda and his stepfather Mike visited the site.  Rijumati showed us around and Vajraketu kindly made us lunch.

The Garden then.

We agreed we'd like to plant up a Rose Bed.

Planted at the end of March this is what we hope it will look like in a few years.

The attraction of the 'Hall' was immediately obvious.

We went to see if the Theatre was suitable for the ceremony, and also for the concert which Ruth, Mike and Vivian had kindly agreed to give in celebration of our wedding.  On stage at the theatre we met Vajrasaddhu's wonderful Bösendorfer grand piano.  Would it still be there in July?  Could we use it?  We had to wait another little while to find out.
