She spent Friday creating this beautiful shrine at the Regency Festival Theatre
Sahananda and Rose processed into the theatre down separate steps.
There was a short meditation and then the refuges and precepts were chanted. Then
Rose and Sahananda made the three traditional offerings of candles, incense and
flowers.
Tejadarshan explained the ceremony
Sahananda and Rose rejoiced in each other's merits
Rose's brother John and Sahananda's brother Peter brought the rings
(Sahananda was shocked and pleased by John's choice of tie for the occasion)
Rose and Sahananda declared their acceptance and commitment and exchanged rings.
Tejadarshan chanted blessings and poured ritual water. Rose and Sahananda
tied symbolic threads round each others wrists.
Everything started to happen at once. To three thunderous cries of 'Sadhu',
Rose and Sahananda garlanded each other and petals rained from the sky.
The kiss - about time.
Rose and Sahananda led everyone out to the strains of Louis Armstrong singing
'What a wonderful world'.
